Origin Story

Derrick & David Knudsen, the youngest and oldest brothers of their six-sibling household, founded Meta Talent amidst a pandemic and extreme times of uncertainty.

They are not strangers to overcoming adversity as their ancestors immigrated to New York post-WWII to forge financial freedom by way of entrepreneurship – opening bakeries and delis throughout New York City.

Today, their family’s entrepreneurial spirit lives on with Meta Talent, as they recruit for the alternative health and hospitality industries.

Derrick and Alice met in Chicago in 2017 at a High Intensity Executive Recruitment Training conference while working under the Adecco umbrella. They both had a passion for recruiting talent and helping people, but didn’t love the impersonal environment of working at a corporate agency. They thought it would be great to branch out and recruit for industries that they felt more passionate about.

They believed branching out and recruiting for industries they had a personal passion for would be more fulfilling, this rings true to this day.

The aim is to help transform the world by connecting passionate professionals with the companies that champion change.
